42 Years and Counting

I’ve recently turned 42. A number made famous as the answer to ‘the ultimate question of life’ in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. My birthday was a low-key affair. I was pleasantly surprised when R had arranged for my friends here in Doha to show up and surprise me. We spent a nice evening out on the water in Katara, the Qatari Culture village, chatting over good food.

QU is now on break and most of my coworkers have left Doha to enjoy a little travel. If I was still living in Muntaza, I’d probably be gone too, but I really enjoy my current living arrangements. I’ve got a nice little apartment in a beautiful quiet neighborhood. So I decided to stick around, relax and save some money.

I do have some little personal projects to keep me occupied here anyways. I’m cooking a fair bit as I make my way through my cookbook collection, but I haven’t been blogging everything. This break will be a good chance to catch up on that. I will also study my project management course over the week as well. There’s also Rosetta Stone Arabic, trying out new recipes, and training for another triathlon. It’ll be a busy break, but that is the way I like it.
